A free event in Dorset celebrating green spaces has been called off following wet weather, with a new date announced.

The Love Parks Day, which was due to take place at Borough Gardens in Dorchester today (Thursday, July 25) from 11am has been postponed after forecasts of poor weather.

Organised by Dorchester Town Council, the rearranged event will take place on Thursday, August 1 at the same time.

Love Parks Day aims to celebrate the town’s gardens, and will offer free activities including face painting, Punch and Judy, The Critter Clan, bouncy castles and a treasure hunt.

It is part of a national celebration, held between Friday July 26 to Sunday, August 4 highlighting the role green spaces play in boosting the health and wellbeing of residents and communities.
