A red telephone box has been transformed into a new book exchange library for the community.
Weymouth Youth Council has announced the opening of the town centre's book exchange facility on St Thomas Street.
Plans for the book exchange began in March after the council bought an old telephone box which was originally going to be taken away by BT.
Residents will be able to peruse the shelves and take out any book they fancy in exchange for an old book.
The booth currently contains classics such as Jane Austen’s Emma as well as children's stories such as Roald Dahl’s Matilda and Horrible Histories titles.
A member of Weymouth Youth Council said: “We are pleased the book exchange is up and running and just as schools have broken up.
"The idea is to take a book and leave a book in exchange, but don’t worry if you don’t have a book to leave you can still take one to read!”
