A care home in Weymouth is preparing for its Olympic themed summer fete to raise vital funds for local charities.

Care UK’s Anning House is celebrating the forthcoming Olympic Games by its sports day summer fete on Wednesday July 24.

The local community is invited to enjoy various fun and games, while being encouraged to leave a donation to key charitable causes in Weymouth - The Lantern Trust, The Bus Shelter Dorset and The Veterans Hub.

There will be complimentary refreshments on offer and seating for those who wish to relax rather than partake in the games.

Visitors will also have a chance to win a spin in the 007 Aston Martin that premiered in the James Bond film Spectre, as well as other prizes in the tombola.

The grand opening begins at 2:30pm with a ribbon cutting by the Weymouth and Portland mayors and charity ambassadors.
