A man has been arrested after allegedly breaching a dispersal order in Weymouth town centre. 

Reports came in to Dorset Police yesterday at around 6.35pm that a man had breached a section 35 dispersal order on Commercial Road.

Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 gives a police constable and a PCSO the power to exclude a person from an area for a period of up to 48 hours with an inspector’s authority.

The man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of failing to comply with a provision or condition of a direction given.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “It is reported that at around 6.35pm on Monday, a man breached a section 35 dispersal order in Commercial Road in Weymouth. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of failing to comply with a provision or condition of a direction given."
