An investigation continues after a violent incident broke out in Weymouth. 

Four teenagers have been released on bail after they were arrested on suspicion of affray and being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs.

As previously reported, a disturbance broke out in the area of Jubilee Close in Weymouth around 10.54pm on Tuesday, July 2.

Dorset Police have now released more information into the incident, and it is alleged that some of the group’s members were in possession of knives.

Following enquiries into the area, and a search assisted by the dog unit, three teenagers aged between 16 and 18 were located in the area of the Rodwell Trail and a quantity of suspected illegal drugs were located.

A fourth teen, 16, was also detained in the area of Jubilee Close and all four were arrested on suspicion of affray and being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs.

They have been released on police bail, as enquiries are carried out.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 10.54pm on Tuesday 2 July 2024 of a disturbance involving a group of people in the area of Jubilee Close in Weymouth. It was reported members of the group were reported to be in possession of knives.

"Officers attended and, following enquiries and searches assisted by the dog unit, three teenagers- aged between 16 and 18 were located in the area of the Rodwell Trail and a quantity of suspected illegal drugs were located.

“A fourth teenager, a 16-year-old boy, was also detained in the area of Jubilee Close and all four suspects were arrested on suspicion of affray and being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs.

“They have been released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.”
