A TOWN road is being partly closed overnight for resurfacing work to take place.
London Road in Dorchester is shut for night works which began on Friday, July 19 and will continue until Wednesday, July 24. These works are taking place between 8pm and 5am.
It is closed between its junctions with Kings Road and Fordington High Street, a distance of approximately 450 metres.
This order will enable RMS & WJ Lining safe access to carry out asphalt preservation and lining works.
An alternative route is signed using: Kings Road - Icen Way - South Walks Road - Great Western Road - Damers Road - Williams Avenue - Bridport Road - High West Street - High East Street.
The order is needed to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimize the likelihood of danger to highway users.
