Two people ended up stranded after their jet ski broke down.
Weymouth’s inshore lifeboat was launched last night after a jet ski broke down, leaving them stuck at Bat’s Head.
The pair managed to make it safely ashore, however there was no safe route off the beach.
In this situation, the crew deemed that the safest course of action was to bring them back to Weymouth via the lifeboat.
The jet ski was later recovered by a private RIB.
A spokesperson for Weymouth Lifeboat said: “We launched shortly after 6pm to assist a broken-down jet ski near Batts Head, on the eastern side of Weymouth Bay.
“There were to two people on board the jet ski, who had managed to get ashore but with no easy and safe exit from the beach we're determined the safest thing to do was to recover then with the ILB. They were brought back into Weymouth.
“The jet ski was subsequently recovered by a private RIB.”
