Mary-Anne Edwards, co-general manager said: “This weekend is one of our favourite events within our programme.

"The way history can be told through an immersive experience and create a fun environment for our visitors to learn all sorts of things they may not yet know, it’s what we love so much about the reenactors and stalls that come to the event year after year,”

Visitors can also expect outstanding historic military demonstrations from the Nothe Fort Garrison, The Rifle Brigade, and The Bluejackets Re-enactment Society –  and even have a go at a cutlass drill.

There will also be stalls from the Victorian surgeon and demonstrations of traditional crafts including blacksmithing, thatching, woodcraft, quilting, weaving, bookbinding and more. You can also discover the lost art of letter writing with The Handwritten Letter Appreciation Society.

A traditional Punch & Judy show will also be performed over the weekend.

On Sunday, Festus Derrimen, a mixed Morris Side from the local area, are bringing with them a fantastic performance of traditional English folk dance.
