Firefighters were called as smoke was seen pouring out of car.
The crew were initially led to believe that a car was on fire, however upon arrival this was not the case.
The smoke coming from the car was actually caused by a mechanical failure rather that a fire.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Woolbridge roundabout in Wool at 11.46am yesterday (July 18), after a report of smoke issuing from a car.
“One crew from Wareham attended but it was a false alarm with good intent, as the smoke was caused by mechanical failure rather than a fire.”
The stop message, meaning that the incident had been dealt with and no further action was required came in at 12.04pm.
