The Dorset Chamber has issued a statement in response to the King's Speech at the State Opening of Parliament.
The speech outlined how its main focus would be economic growth, a decision which has been described as "encouraging" by the Dorset Chamber of Commerce.
Ian Girling, chief executive of Dorset Chamber, said: “The commitment to an industrial strategy has the potential to put a much-needed framework in place to support British business in a coherent, fair and dynamic way and create the certainty required to stimulate investment."
He added that he hopes there will be a "meaningful consultation" between businesses, stating some Dorset businesses may be nervous about the added costs and regulation this could bring.
“We will work closely with the British Chamber of Commerce to make the voice of business in Dorset heard while helping businesses in the county take advantages of the opportunities and overcome the challenges that the government’s legislative agenda may being.”
