A LICENCE review is to be held for a Dorset bar.
It was called by Dorset Police – after what the force claims were breaches of licensing conditions during the town’s folk festival.
Public comments on the review of the Premises Licence for The Butcher's Dog bar and bottle shop in East Street, Wimborne, remain open until the end of the month.
The review will be carried out by Dorset councillors sitting as a licensing committee with the power to revoke, change, or leave unaltered, the conditions of the licence.
It has been called by the Dorset Police Drug and Alcohol Harm Reduction Team on the grounds of the prevention of crime and disorder and public safety.
The police say the premises has breached conditions attached to its licence on several occasions with the management of the business not responding to police advice, undermining the licensing objectives.
It claims that patrols during the recent Folk Festival found unreasonable noise levels from the premises and people drinking on the footpath outside.
