A church in Weymouth will be hosting a traditional fayre which will feature a teddy bear zipwire.
All Saints’ Church on Portland Road in Wyke Regis, Weymouth, will be hosting a Midsummer Church Ale on Saturday, July 20 from 2pm to 6pm.
The day will feature stalls, a BBQ, tower tours, refreshments, and a performance from Weymouth Concert Brass. Everyone of all ages is welcome, with a zip wire for children to bring their teddy bears in to slide down on the day.
A Church Ale was a regular occasion for parish communities to come together, where ale was the main drink on offer. It was phased out during the Reformation period.
