The world of art and cuisine is set to collide once again as a popular festival returns.

The Dorset Food and Arts Festival is preparing to showcase a bumper crop of local food, drink, art, craft, music and community talent on Saturday, August 3 from 10am to 3pm at the Great Field in Poundbury, Dorchester.

More than 65 stalls will be scattered across the festival field selling plenty of different items including food and drink, locally made products, as well as arts and crafts.

Festival coordinator Caz Richards said: “We really hope the local community, holiday makers and day trippers will come and support this popular event and look forward to seeing everyone.

“We love the Great Field, and work with Pips Poundbury and the Park Run to ensure the event works in harmony with them on the day of the event.

“Shopping and in the fresh air, catching up with friends and supporting local producers. It’s a winning combination.”

The festival used to take place in Queen Mother Square, but since outgrew the location.

Caz added: “We shifted the festival location in 2021 to the Great Field in Poundbury to give us more space and to operate safely as we emerged from the pandemic, but look forward to reimagining the event for 2025 in partnership with the Duchy of Cornwall, local businesses, and residents."

The full line-up of stallholders has been revealed, with a wide variety of attendees, including Aurora Light Photography, Ali.Shawls, Ama Menec Sculpture, Beewrap UK, Bee’s Knees Bakes, Black Ven Distillery, Boos Toy Shop Poundbury, Jurassic Coast Farm Shop and Maycottage goatsmilk soaps.

Stallholders remain busy making baking, farming, crafting, sewing, grinding, painting, potting, carving, and cooking ready for the big day.

There will also be a great selection of live music on the day from Blue Bridge, Dr Jazz and Karina Blissett & Aaron Carter.

The festival is held on the Saturday closest to the late Queen Mother's birthday and is free to attend.
