An 'urgent' road closure has been put in place due to a sinkhole appearing in Weymouth.
Wardcliffe Road has been forced to close due to a sinkhole in the carriageway and is likely to remain closed for several days whilst repair work is carried out.
The road is closed at its junction with Knightsdale Road and is expected to remain closed until Friday, July 19.
Access to Wardcliffe Road is still available via Old Parish Lane.
Dorset Council will be undertaking the repairs and has informed Weymouth Town Council of the emergency road closure.
Weymouth Town Council Cllr Ryan Hope said: "Dorset Council has notified us of an urgent closure on Wardcliffe Road, Weymouth due to sinkhole in carriageway.
"The works are expected to be completed by 19th July 2024.
"If there are any further updates, we will of course let you know."
