Residents of Sutton Poyntz are set to benefit from more than £14k in lottery funding to repair and improve their village hall.
The Mission Hall, on Mission Hall Lane in Sutton Poyntz, has been providing a place for people to meet since it was built in 1892.
It is used for celebrations, entertainment evenings, educational talks, social gatherings, and a variety of clubs and classes.
Now 132 years old, it is in need of some repair and improvements so the trustees have been holding fundraising events and also made some funding bids.
Trustees are thrilled that their application to the new National Lottery Community Fund for £14,124 was successful.
A trustee spokesperson said: "Thank you to National Lottery players for helping our hall to survive."
The money will be for new windows plus repairing the roof and insulating the roof space.
The National Lottery Community Fund recently launched its new strategy, ‘It starts with community’, which will underpin its efforts to distribute at least £4 billion of National Lottery funding by 2030.
It aims to support communities to come together, be environmentally sustainable, help children and young people thrive and enable people to live healthier lives.
