Parks and green spaces across Dorset have been recognised as 'some of the best in the country'.
Ten locations across the Dorset Council area including Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester have all been awarded Green Flag Awards.
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
Weymouth mayor Jon Orrell has described Greenhill and Sansdfoot Gardens picking up the award as a 'fantastic achievement' and praised the hard work of volunteers and council workers.
