A rural village will be holding a concert celebrating the life of one of Dorset’s most famous sons.
At 7.30pm on July 27, there will be a classic concert in St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Cattistock as part of the South West tour of a new album entitled The Past & I: 100 Years of Thomas Hardy.
Composer and arranger Arthur Keegan will be exploring Thomas Hardy’s life through songs of the 20th century which are inspired by the author’s works and the local Dorset landscape.
He will be collaborating with guitarist James Girling and singer Lotte Betts-Dean who was the winner of the 2024 Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award.
This tour supports the release of an album of this music, on 19th July 2024, recorded with Delphian Records.
Tickets are available to buy in the Cattistock village shop or on the door on the night.
