A FIRE broke out at a flat above a restaurant in Weymouth.
The fire service was called to the blaze above the Cactus Tea Rooms on the Esplanade at 7.15pm on Saturday.
Two crews attended from Weymouth and Dorchester fire stations as well as police officers.
Three breathing apparatus wearers used three hose reel jets and one main line to extinguish the blaze.
There were no reports of any injuries. The end of the Esplanade and the adjoining roads were blocked.
It was also reported by members of the public that traffic was being sent the wrong direction down the road behind St Mary’s Church.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: “Two crews from Weymouth and Dorchester were sent to a flat fire above Cactus Tea Rooms in Weymouth at 7.15pm.
“The fire was extinguished using three breathing apparatus wearers, three hose reel jets, and one main line. No injuries were reported.”
