Cries for help on the Dorset coast in the early hours sparked an emergency services callout.
Coastguard teams from Lyme Regis and West Bay were called to a person crying for help after being cut off by the tide between Lyme Regis and Charmouth yesterday morning at 3.26am.
West Bay Coastguard located one casualty, and another was confirmed to be safe and well inland.
A spokesperson for Lyme Regis Coastguard said: "Tasked to reports of cries for help between Lyme Regis and Charmouth. West Bay Coastguard located one casualty in Charmouth and a second was confirmed safe and well inland."
A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: "At 3.08am, HM Coastguard received a report of calls for help heard between Charmouth and Lyme Regis in Dorset. Lyme Regis and West Bay Coastguard Rescue Teams were tasked to attend.
"An individual who had been cut off by the tide made himself known to coastguard officers and was able to make his way home safely. "
