Military organisations across Dorset gathered for a night of friendly competition and fundraising at an annual skittles tournament.
The Dorchester Royal Navy Association hosted its skittle tournament and charity raffle on June, 21 2024, at the Trinity Club in Dorchester.
The event aimed to provide a platform for friendly competition while also highlighting the spirit of giving back and making a positive impact.
Teams from Portland RNA, Dorchester RNA, Weymouth and Portland Fleet Air Arm Association, The Rifles Dorchester, and Drumgrange Ltd showcased their skittle skills, with one of the Portland RNA teams emerging as the overall winners.
In addition to the team trophy, they also secured the top spots in the ladies' and men's individual highest score categories.
The evening featured two raffles - a rum raffle and a prize/bottle draw - with £333 raised earmarked for the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI), the chosen charity of Dorchester RNA for the year.
Tony Holmes, Head of Operations, Drumgrange Ltd also presented a £450 sponsorship cheque to Jim Armstrong, Chair of Dorchester RNA, Pat Knight, Treasurer Dorchester RNA and Paul D’Arcy, Vice Chair of W&P Fleet Air Arm Association.
This donation and the monies raised on the evening will contribute to the ongoing efforts of Dorchester RNA in serving the community and supporting charitable initiatives.
