Police and paramedics have rushed to Littlemoor Road in Weymouth.
A witness said: "We drove past after 5.15pm to find traffic slowing and a police car parked on the road.
"There were a couple of police officers appearing to give medical assistance to a man on the grass verge.
"It was unclear what had happened but I hope he's OK"
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We attended a welfare concern on Littlemoor Road which was reported by a member of the public.
"Officers have now left the scene."
