A van has been damaged in a hit and run.

Following enquiries it has been revealed that the damage was believed to have been caused following a collision involving a motorbike, another unidentified vehicle that reportedly failed to stop at the scene and the parked Volkswagen van.

The owner of the Volkswagen Transporter van that had been parked on Fortuneswell, opposite the Royal Manor Theatre, arrived back at their vehicle to discover that damage had been caused

Police are now appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward as we investigate a report of a fail-to-stop road traffic collision on Portland.

There have been no injuries reported at this moment in time.

The incident took place between 1.25pm and 2.10pm on Monday, July 1 and police have just revealed the information as part of an appeal.

Police Constable Chloe Seaward, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
