WEYMOUTH father and son Matt and Jack Brown have been travelling around Germany for the past month following England as they progress through Euro 2024.

They're remaining positive ahead of England's match against The Netherlands this evening.

Matt, 39, is a self-employed window fitter who lives in Westham. He and his son Jack, 20, have been meeting famous faces during their footie tour.

Jack has Langerhans' cell histiocytosis (LCH) and is in a wheelchair because of his condition.

The pair left Weymouth on Friday, June 14, catching the ferry from Dover to Calais, then driving through Belgium and into Germany.

On Sunday, June 16, they were in the stadium in Gelsenkirchen for England's opening game against Serbia.

Since then they have followed England to Frankfurt, Cologne back to Gelsenkirchen and on to Dusseldorf where they witnessed England beating Switzerland.

Matt said: "In between the games we have been out and about exploring, we have been staying about an hour away from each stadium in AirBnbs.

"We have been into the cities, been to the zoo, been to fan zones everywhere.

"One of the villages we stayed in had a big screen and the locals were so welcoming, they were happy to have us in our England tops in between 100 German fans, buying us drinks.

"Everyone from every country has been great, we haven't seen any trouble or any fights anywhere."

On their travels, Matt and Jack have also met a number of celebrities, including ex-footballers, current England players and YouTubers.

They have met Rio Ferdinand, Ben Foster, Peter Beardsley, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Jordan Pickford, Luke Shaw, Jobe and Jude Bellingham as well as YouTubers Harry Pinero, AngryGinge and Russ Cook aka Hardest Geezer.

Perhaps even more surprisingly, in their travels, Matt and Jack also met some of their friends from Weymouth while in Germany.

Matt added: "We have been in fan zones a few times and seen people from Weymouth that we know.

"It was completely unplanned, it is a small world sometimes."

Ahead of England's semi-final against The Netherlands tonight (8pm), both Matt and Jack are optimistic about their chances.

Matt said: "I believe we can win it.

"It has been stressful at times but we played better against Switzerland and we are getting the results we need.

"The penalties were the five calmest penalties I have ever seen.

"I think we can win the next game and hopefully we will be off to Berlin for the final.

"It has been once in a lifetime for us, we will never be able to a trip like this again so we are loving every minute."
