A WOMAN was assaulted and had her car and house keys stolen while she was sat in her car while in stationary traffic.
Police said a woman aged in her 50s was in her vehicle in stationary traffic in East Street in Wareham.
Another car, described as grey or blue and possibly a hatchback, pulled in front of her, with another woman, who was known to the woman, getting out and approaching the victim.
She then reportedly assaulted her and stole her car and house keys, before getting back into her car and driving off.
The victim did not sustain any serious injuries that required immediate medical treatment.
A 35-year-old woman from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
She has been release on police bail as the investigation continues, with officer now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
It happened at around 9pm on Thursday, July 4 with police only revealing details today.
Sergeant Mia Jakeman, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please make contact with us.
“I would also urge motorists who were in the area around the relevant time to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.”
