WET weather on Friday did not dampen the atmosphere in Chickerell as the Chickerell Steam and Vintage Show returned to Moor Farm this weekend.
It was full steam ahead for organisers as the sun shone over the farm in Knights in the Bottom on Saturday.
A queue of cars on the B3157 formed as visitors waited to enter the showgrounds.
Hundreds of cars filled three fields as visitors came to see steam engines, classic cars, axemen and live music throughout the day
The event continues today from 10.00am until 4.00 pm.
Tickets cost £12 for adults, £10 for OAPs, £6 for ages 5 to 16 and under 5's go for free.
Refreshment stalls including ice cream vans and beer tents are available at the event.
Rain on Friday night meant that the vehicles were not able to parade through the damp arena, but straw was placed around the show to ensure shoes do not get too muddy for visitors.
Tracy Scott, one of the organisers of the show said, despite some light rain in the morning, the turnout had improved from 2023.
She said: “People are still coming in, it is great fun and it is a great atmosphere and a good family event.
“The turnout has been absolutely brilliant, I think a little bit more than last year and the car parks have been full.
“We have been very lucky so far with the weather over the years, yesterday wasn’t great, so we have had to put a lot of straw down to cover the mud, but it is walkable.
“Everybody is here enjoying themselves.
“We haven’t been able to have the vehicle parades around the arena because of the weather and the dampness.
“But we have the stage going, we have all of the children’s stuff and the vehicles are all parked up.
“There is something for everybody here, it is a bit quirky, there is something different that you don’t normally get to see."
