Young people are invited to celebrate pride at a free, inclusive event in Dorchester.

Dorset Youth Pride is returning to the Shire Hall Museum on Saturday July 13 to host a day of activities celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

The museum will be open from 10am to 5pm with informative talks happening throughout the day so young people can learn about LGBTQ+ history and issues.

There will also be craft workshops and the opportunity to take over Vinyl Van’s decks to play your favourite tunes and pride anthems.

Comedian Andrew White will also be performing his stand-up set ‘Young, Gay and a Third Thing’ in partnership with the Hardy Har (Dorchester’s Comedy Festival).

Tamsin Little, organiser of Dorset Youth Pride, said: “When we first held Dorset Youth Pride in 2022, we wanted to create a safe space, where members of the LGBTQ+ community, young people and allies could come together and experience Pride.

“Dorset Youth Pride is an opportunity to celebrate, learn, engage and express yourself.”

The event is supported by RiskSTOP Group LTD who is sponsoring the event for the third year.

Dorset Youth Pride also feature stalls from Space Youth Project, Pop’n’Olly, Dorset Youth Voice, Weymouth Gap Group, This is Me, Dorchester Sheroes, STARS, Section 28 and its After Lives, the NHS and Dorset Council.
