Police issue advice to parents after youths scattered from the area of a building site following reports of a theft in progress.
Officers were called to a reported theft in progress in an area of Poundbury yesterday evening (Friday, June 28) where a significant amount of building work is taking place.
After arriving on the scene, police observed a group of youths scattering from the area. They were subsequently caught and all involved were identified.
Due to the safeguarding aspect of the incident, neighbourhood policing officers will talk with parents and schools.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police went on to issue advice to parents: “Please tell your children that not only is it extremely dangerous to play on building sites it also stretches police resources when security monitoring services are triggered.
“Their actions could potentially deprive another person of police attendance.”
