A car was seized from an uninsured driver in Sherborne.
Officers from Sherborne Neighbourhood Policing Team seized a vehicle while travelling on Horsecastles Lane this morning.
Defects have been identified on the vehicle by police. It will subsequently be assessed by examiners to check if it is roadworthy before being released.
Police confirmed the driver of the vehicle will be prosecuted for the offence of driving without insurance.
A spokesperson for Sherborne Police said: "Officers have this morning seized a vehicle under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act which was being driven on Horsecastles Lane. The driver will be prosecuted for the offence of driving without insurance.
"A number of defects have also been identified on the vehicle and examiners will be assessing the vehicle to check if it is roadworthy before being released."
