A "high risk" missing teenage girl was found at West Bay. 

Two coastguard crews from Lyme Regis and West Bay, along with the South West team for the National Police Air Service were called out on Tuesday, June 25 at 7.38pm to assist Dorset Police with the search for a high risk missing girl. 

The girl was found "safe and well" at West Bay and transferred to the care of the police service.

A HM Coastguard spokesperson said: "On Tuesday June 25 at 7.28pm, West Bay and Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Teams were tasked to assist Dorset Police with searching for a missing girl at West Bay, Dorset.

"The girl was located safe and well at around 8pm and passed to the care of the police service."

A spokesperson for the National Police Air Service said: "At 8.07pm on Tuesday June 25, a police helicopter from NPAS Exeter was deployed to the Bridport area to support Dorset Police in the search for a high risk missing person.

"The total flying time was 47 minutes."

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 6.35pm raising concern for the welfare of a teenage girl in West Bay.

"Following enquiries, she was subsequently located at around 8.50pm."
