A spokesperson for Weymouth Community Safety Patrol Officers said: "Yesterday our patrol officers were patrolling the Custom House Quayside in Weymouth Town Centre to disrupt our local street drinking community and deter them from congregating and causing anti-social behaviour.

"As a result of our 100 DOS patrol we came across six street drinkers in a growing group who were incredibly intoxicated and abusive.

"Through our partnership working with Dorset Police all individuals were issued section 35 dispersal orders and removed from the area for a specific period of time.

"Anti-social behaviour, street drinking and confrontational individuals will not be accepted in our seaside town.

"This commitment to our town centre will continue through into the summer and until the message is received.

"Today our patrol officers have been patrolling our usual hotspots dealing with a variety of different issues along the way, we had reports of some young people jumping off of the pier we attended and explained the dangers of doing so the group we moved away from the area."
