The police has warned football fans in Dorset to drink responsibly during the Euro 2024 football tournament.
Dorset Police said that some people may be drinking more than they typically would if they are watching football matches down the pub in the evening.
The force is urging fans to “drink responsibly” to protect the safety of themselves and others.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At the end of the day, it’s a game of two halves – or maybe more than a couple of halves if you’re down the pub watching the match.
“Drinking too much alcohol impacts everyone’s behaviour in some way. This can easily spill over into anti-social behaviour or public disorder.
“You can’t control the final score of the match, but you can end the night on your terms. Drink responsibly and put your safety and the safety of others first.”
