A huge milestone celebration is set to take place on Portland.
This year the Islanders Youth and Community Centre is marking its 50th anniversary with a big birthday bash on Saturday, July 13 from 2pm at the centre on East Weare Road.
The community event is free for all and will see plenty of entertainment, local sellers, food and refreshments, live music from Mark Loxley and Louise Scarlett Crawford, a raffle, a disco, as well as a penalty shootout.
Castletown D-Day Centre will also be at the event with a jeep and lots of interactive props.
The Islanders summer extravaganza celebrates 50 years of the non-profit community centre and supports local businesses.
