Drivers are reporting problems with the ticket machine at a new car park in Weymouth this morning.
The fault is affecting the machine at Dorset Council's North Quay car park, the site of the former Weymouth & Portland Borough Council offices.
One driver said their ticket wasn't issued when they paid.
Another who paid said they got the ticket for the person who paid before them.
Geoff Moore, from Portland, used the car park this morning and said: "It seems to be randomly issuing tickets. Either you don't get one at all or you get the ticket for the person who paid before you.
"I paid for two hours and didn't get a ticket so I ended up putting a note in the car to say I had paid and at what time.
"There were a lot of confused people at the machine.
"We met an Australian couple who paid for all day and they got a ticket for three hours.
"To test the theory I then put in 50p and got an all day ticket which should've been the ticket the Australian couple wanted so I gave it to them.
"For visitors it's the first point of contact in the town and it gives a bad impression if things aren't working."
Following the demolition of the council offices the car park re-opened on Friday, May 10 with an additional 42 spaces.
The cost to park has not changed from before it closed - it's less than half of the other nearby Dorset Council car parks.
