A MAN with extreme violent sexual fantasies raped and beat a woman while she cried out in protest, a court has heard.

Perry Legg, 33, reportedly raped his victim in three different ways while hitting her in her own home.

Prosecutor, Thomas Horder, told Bournemouth Crown Court on June 21, the defendant has an active interest in violent sexual behaviour and fantasises about rape.

On July 20, 2021, the victim was ‘considerably drunk’ in her home and the defendant began to forcibly pull her down onto the floor where he forced himself on her.

Mr Horder said the victim told Legg she did not want to have sex but he continued to force her onto the bed and rape her.

He hit her repeatedly in the face during the incident and put his hand around her throat.

The court heard the victim cried out in pain but the defendant continued.

When the defendant eventually let her go she fled from her own house and knocked on a neighbour's door.

During the police investigation officers found a WhatsApp group on the defendant’s phone which “demonstrated his interest in extreme sexual practices”.

Videos were also recovered portraying mutilation and injuries inflicted during sex.

In a victim impact statement, the woman said the assault has impacted her mental health which has resulted in suicide attempts and self-harm.

Mitigating, Guy Ladenburg, said the defendant has had difficulty acknowledging his guilt due to his unorthodox background of sexual preferences.

He added this has been a peculiar case where the defendant and victim previously engaged in serious violence during sex with consent.

“The irony of Mr Legg saying in a group chat of the importance of communication between them because a dangerous game was being played,” said Mr Ladenburg.

During his arrest, body worn footage shows the defendant saying: “I know it is no consolation, but I feel awful.”

Mr Ladenburg said the defendant handed himself in immediately after telling his friend something bad had happened.

“He thought what was going on was with her consent.”

Mr Recorder Tait said the victim had previously engaged in violent sexual conduct but Legg breached her trust.

“You raped her in three different ways and assaulted her.”

He added: “There was clear protesting and imploring you to stop and you did not.”

Mr Recorder Tait said the defendant knew she was not consenting and this was clear in his messages to his friend that something had gone “significantly wrong”.

Perry Legg, 33 and of Old Wareham Road, Poole, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for three counts of rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possessing extreme pornographic material.

He will be handed a sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offender register, both for life.

Detective sergeant Nick Whittaker, of Dorset Police, said: “Perry Legg subjected his victim to a truly horrific physical and sexual attack, and I want to praise her for the courage she has shown in coming forward to report the offences.

“She has also shown immense bravery throughout the investigation and court process and helped to ensure Legg faces justice for his despicable crimes.

“I hope her actions will help inspire other victims of sexual offences to find the strength to report them to police, in the knowledge that they will be fully supported and we will do all we can to ensure offenders are held accountable.”
