A man who was injured in a fall in Weymouth was airlifted to hospital.

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed at The Marsh at around 12pm today.

The air ambulance later carried a patient to Southampton General Hospital.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance said: "Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended an incident reported as an adult male who had suffered a fall in the Weymouth area today.

"Our critical care team assisted at the scene of the incident and airlifted the patient to Southampton General Hospital.

"The team we provided consisted of a doctor and specialist practitioner in critical care, both of whom specialise in pre-hospital emergency medicine. The aircraft was crewed as usual, by a pilot and co-pilot."
