An historic Dorset landmark is hosting a brand new food and drink festival.

The National Trust is hosting Love It Local’s inaugural Food and Drink Festival at Corfe Castle on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 of July.

The castle grounds will be used to home a celebration of local produce, showcasing food and drink sourced from across the Isle of Purbeck along with some fun, family entertainment.

With the castle ruins and range of stalls to explore, the weekend aims to cater to every taste while providing a scenic backdrop for all the family to enjoy.

Eoin McDowell, experience and visitor programming manager for the National Trust, said: “Purbeck has some of the best food and drink businesses around, and we’re delighted to host them at the castle for the Love It Local food festival. We’re looking forward to a fun, family atmosphere.”

A wide variety of produce will be on offer for visitors to discover including artisan foods and homemade snacks, including cheeses and chutneys

Those with a sweet tooth will be able to treat themselves to ice cream, jams, brownies and traditional sweets.

Visitors will also have a choice of meals throughout the day.

Gourmet toasties, burgers, quiches and bacon rolls will be among the options for revellers to enjoy.

Those wanting a quick snack will also be able to buy cakes and pastries along with soft drinks or a local tea or coffee.

Stalls will also be selling a variety of locally produced alcohol, including gin, mead, and cider.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the weekend and children will be able to enjoy face-painting, balloon modelling, glitter tattoos and hair braiding.

There will also be a bar and live music, allowing visitors to unwind in the castle grounds while enjoying the Purbeck scenery.
