A woman has been arrested following a robbery at a supermarket in Gillingham.
The robbery happened at the Asda store located in Station Road when a woman stole several bottles of alcohol from the supermarket.
Staff challenged a woman who then allegedly 'threw one of the bottles' at a staff member but did not hit the supermarket worker.
She also 'threatened staff' outside the shop before leaving, police say.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "It was reported that at around 3.15pm on Monday, May 6, a woman stole a number of bottles of alcohol from the Asda store in Station Road.
"When she was challenged by staff inside the store, she allegedly threw one of the bottles toward a staff member, but it did not make contact.
"She also reportedly threatened staff outside the store before making off from the scene.
"Following enquiries by officers and an image appeal, a 34-year-old local woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft.
"She has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
"We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal."
