FIREFIGHTERS rushed to the scene of a large heath fire in Dorset.
Multiple fire engines were alerted to an incident of a growing blaze.
Fire crews managed to extinguish the fire in under an hour.
The incident took place at Holt Heathland on the evening of June 16.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Holt Heath at 5.51pm for a fire involving an area of approximately 100m x 50m.
“We sent fire engines and small 4x4 appliances from both Wimborne and Verwood, together with a support unit from Hamworthy and a water carrier from Ringwood.
“The fire was quickly surrounded, and two hose reel jets and a main jet were used, with the stop at 6.29pm.”
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
