It will provide military specific counselling and psychotherapy, a drop-in space for the community to aid integration and reduce isolation, and offer light refreshments, a pre-loved bookshop, and a communal wellbeing garden.

A spokesperson for Got Your Six UK said: "We have been providing military specific counselling and psychotherapy for the last two years based out of the Veterans Hub with strong results.

"Over that period, we have supported 56 clients, comprising 36 veterans, and the rest a combination of spouses, relatives, emergency service workers and civilians.

"With referrals from external organisations increasing, and a lack of support for our armed forces community identified in north Dorset and south Somerset, we made the decision to become a full-time project and open a centre in Wincanton to widen the area we are able to offer support in."
