THREE easyJet flights were diverted to Bournemouth Airport due to bad weather.
The flights were forced to land at Hurn on Saturday afternoon, June 15.
An easyJet spokesperson said: “Due to adverse weather conditions in London Gatwick this afternoon a flight from Palma, Zakynthos, and one from Malaga were unable to land and diverted to Bournemouth.
“We did all possible to minimise the impact of the weather disruption for our customers, providing onward coach transfers to London Gatwick from Bournemouth.
“The safety of our passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority and while this was outside of our control we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the weather.”
The budget airline only currently operates two flights out of Bournemouth Airport during the winter months to Geneva and Lyon.
TUI and Ryanair are currently the two main operators out of the airport.
However, as previously reported, popular low-cost airline, Jet2, will launch a huge number of flights from the airport next year.
It will become the company's 12th UK base airport and it is expected to add up to 27 extra flights a week in the summer of 2025.
Routes include Tenerife, Palma, Ibiza, Dalaman and Crete.
Meanwhile, Fuerteventura and Madeira services will be exclusive from Bournemouth Airport.
