A popular agricultural event will be returning this summer and celebrating its thirtieth anniversary at Turnpike Showground.
The annual Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show will run for two days on Wednesday August 14 and Thursday August 15, giving visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the heart of Dorset’s rural community.
It is organised by the Gillingham & Shaftesbury Agricultural Society and will take place at the Turnpike Showground in Motcombe.
The line-up includes livestock parades, agricultural and countryside exhibits, equestrian events, vintage machinery and cars, steam engines, live bands and a funfair.
This year there will also be a visit from Joseph’s Amazing Camels, which were featured in films such as Nativity, the 2017 live adaption of Aladdin and Death on the Nile.
There will also be a horticulture marquee which welcomes over 1500 entries including flowers, vegetables and cookery.
A selection locally produced cheese, cake, cider, coffee, flapjacks and gin will also be on offer for visitors to enjoy.
The show welcomes dogs on lead and mobility scooters are available for hire on the day.
Family tickets available now at early-bird prices £41 for two adults and two children.
Two-day tickets also available and free parking is available.
