A group of youths were moved on from a town centre after behaving in an anti-social manner.

Officers from Weymouth and Portland Police have been conducting foot patrols in the evenings in the area of Brunswick Terrace and Greenhill Gardens to deter anti-social behaviour.

According to police, a group of youth were moved on from the area after playing loud music, drinking alcohol and behaving in an anti-social manner.

The patrols were conducted as part of the police’s 100 days of summer initiative.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “As part of our 100 Days Of Summer patrols, Town Centre Neighbourhood Officers have been conducting evening foot patrols in the area of Brunswick Terrace and Greenhill Gardens this week in a proactive measure to deter those out with the single aim to inflict anti-social behaviour on locals, tourists and our seaside businesses.

“Groups of youths have been moved on from the area playing loud music, drinking alcohol and behaving in an anti-social manner. We will continue with these uniformed and plain clothes patrols throughout the summer until the message gets across that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in Weymouth Town Centre.”
