Plant enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of two specialist plant fairs this summer

Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens will be hosting the first of two fairs this month, which raises funds for the conservation charity ‘Plant Heritage Dorset’.

On Sunday, June 23, approximately 30 specialist nurseries, craft stalls and wildlife charities will set up stall on the west lawn at the gardens between 10am and 3pm.

Last year £2,000 was raised for the conservation charity.

Public admission is £7.00 giving and will not only give access to the large fair but also the 20 acres of award-winning gardens, which remain open until 5pm.

A spokesperson for the event said: "There are three new nurseries this year, including RHS Chelsea and Malvern Show exhibitors, plus willow, card, stone & ironwork crafts.

"Visitors are advised to bring both cash and card for payments as wi-fi coverage can sometimes be patchy.

"A solar-powered barista coffee stall will be amongst the plant stalls offering quality hot drinks and pastries."

The second fair, with approximately 25 stalls, will be held on Sunday, September 1, and will feature a large selection of late flowering perennials, shrubs and ornamental grasses, plus a handful of craft stalls.

Tickets can be bought on the day or via the Abbotsbury ticket website at https://abbotsburytickets.co.uk/events/
