Firefighters will be washing cars at Weymouth Fire Station this weekend in return for donations.

The charity car wash at the fire station on Radipole Lane, Weymouth, will take place on Sunday, June 9 between 10am and 3pm.

It will raise money for the Fire Fighters charity, which provides help for the mental and physical wellbeing of retired firefighters.

Money will also be raised for an expedition to Borneo for firefighters to conduct a month-long community project to support the daughter of crew manager O’Shea.

Station Manager Martin Charles said: “We provide everyone within the fire and rescue service with a vital lifeline when things are tough.

“This can mean anything, from rehabilitation after injury to finding someone else to turn to during a mental health problem, or even financial challenges.”

“Drivers can come and get their vehicles cleaned by our firefighters and make a charity donation to support these worthy causes.”
