There are delays and some cancellations to trains running from Weymouth this morning due to a signalling problem.
Delays of up to 25 minutes will be affecting passengers travelling on South Western Railway between Weymouth and Southampton Central due to problems with the signals at Bournemouth.
This is affecting trains entering service from the depot.
Lines reopened at 8.31am however disruption to the services is expected to last until 4pm.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: "We were informed earlier of a signalling problem inside Bournemouth depot. This meant that fewer trains were able to leave the depot at their booked times, which has caused a number of delays and cancellations.
"The signalling issue has since been fixed, so trains are once again able to come out of the depot into service. Due to the severity of these delays, it's likely that trains will continue to be revised whilst normal service resumes.
Passengers are advised they can use their ticket to travel on the following bus services:
-
Bluestar 8, 9, 11 and 12 between Southampton - Millbrook - Redbridge - Totton.
-
Bluestar 6 between Brockenhurst and Lymington.
-
Morebus X1 and X2 between Lymington - New Milton - Christchurch – Bournemouth.
-
Morebus 1A, 1B and 1C between Bournemouth - Pokesdown - Christchurch.
-
Morebus M1 and M2 between Bournemouth - Branksome - Parkstone – Poole. Morebus 40 between Poole and Wareham.
