Community grants have been given to local groups to commemorate the D-Day 80th anniversary across Weymouth.
From a 1940s-themed party to an afternoon tea event, Weymouth Town Council has awarded grants to local community groups and organisations to put on D-Day 80 commemorative activities across the town.
The aim of the grants is to bring communities together to commemorate the Allied invasion of Normand on June 6 1944 and will benefit several groups.

Parish of Wyke Regis, All Saints with St Edmund, is organising 'An Evening To Remember' from 6pm tonight (Thursday, June 6).
This will include a D-Day documentary, fish and chip supper, live music before the D-Day beacon lighting at 9.15pm.
Weymouth Brownies will be using its grant money to organise a 1940s-style party whilst Holy Trinity Church is hosting a D-Day themed quiz at 7pm on Saturday, June 8.
St Nicholas Church will be using the funds to host an afternoon tea event also on Saturday at 681 Dorchester Road with St Laurence Church, Upwey, holding a 'Celebration of D-Day' in the church car park on Sunday, June 9 from 12pm-4.30pm.
Cllr Jon Orrell, mayor of Weymouth said: “I am so pleased that these local groups are putting on a variety of events to bring our communities together to honour and remember the significance of D-Day here in Weymouth.
“These events will complement the programme of activities the council has organised as we commemorate this pivotal moment in history."
