POLICE are hunting a woman who reportedly stole bottles of alcohol from a supermarket and threw one at a staff member.
A woman allegedly stole a number of bottles of alcohol from the Asda store in Station Road.
When she was challenged by staff inside the store, she threw one of the bottles toward a staff member, but it did not make contact.
She was challenged again by staff outside the store and threatened them before making off from the scene.
Officers are issuing an image of a woman they are looking to identify.
Police Constable Lily Cambridge-King, of Dorset Police, said: “We take reports of violence toward retail staff very seriously and we are carrying out a full investigation into this matter.
“I am now in a position to issue an image of a woman we are looking to identify as part of our ongoing enquiries, and I would urge anyone who recognises her to please get in touch.”
The alleged robbery was reported At around 3.15pm on Monday, May 6, but police have released the information today.
