BOURNEMOUTH manager Andoni Iraola could be among the crowds flocking to Weymouth this summer.

Iraola, 41, has been spotted milling around the seaside town with his family on numerous occasions during his first year in charge of the Cherries.

Taking in the fresh Dorset air seems to have worked wonders for the Basque coach, after he led the Cherries to their biggest-ever Premier League points haul of 48 last season.

Quizzed on his trips to Weymouth, Iraola revealed to the Bournemouth Echo his preference for seeing as much of Dorset as possible.

He said: “Have you seen me there? I like it.

“Sometimes we go to Weymouth, Swanage or Christchurch, different places for a change.

“We like to go with the kids normally to different places, but we have been to Weymouth sometimes, yes.”

However, the former Spain and Athletic Bilbao defender has already spent part of his summer down time in Spain, where he turned out in a charity match for his former club Rayo Vallecano’s 100th anniversary.

Iraola added: “Most of the summer will be here in beautiful Bournemouth.

“There is a week I will go home, because I haven’t been since last summer, so I have to go.

“Then probably I will try to find some days. But they have to continue at school, so it is not going to be easy.”
