A DORSET autocentre has announced plans to expand its business.

DCM Tyre & Autocentres is an automotive service centre with garages in Shaftesbury and Blandford.

The garages offer a range of services for various types of vehicles, including petrol, diesel, electric, hybrid, manual and automatic vehicles.

The company is described as ‘local, independent specialists who provide a customer-centric, trusted, dependable service, keeping motorists safely motoring on the road.’

Now, the company has announced it is widening its Shaftesbury branch and installing amenities such as a children’s play area and remote working spaces for workers.

A spokesperson for the company said: “The expansion sees the car and van mechanic service provider taking over the adjacent unit on Longmead Industrial Estate, a change that will introduce innovative amenities, including remote working spaces and a dedicated children’s play area.

“These new features are designed to cater to the evolving needs of DCM’s clients, particularly busy parents and professionals seeking flexible working options.

“The introduction of remote working spaces aims to allow customers to remain productive while their vehicles are being serviced.

“This facility is expected to be particularly popular among professionals who require a conducive working environment during their visits.

“The new children’s play area aims to create a family-friendly atmosphere, providing a safe and enjoyable space where children can play. The company aims to make visits more convenient and enjoyable for families.”

With news of the expansion, DCM is also looking to broaden its staff and is looking for new technicians with salaries ranging from £40,000 to £55,000 per year.

Charlie Evans, managing director, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for DCM Autocentres.

“With the growth of our Shaftesbury branch and the continued success of our Blandford location, we aim to provide much-needed jobs for skilled workers within the community.

“This expansion underscores our commitment to delivering high-quality services and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all our clients.”

The news comes after the decision to shut the Sturminster Newton branch of DCM due to a lack of skilled staff.
