THE relief road between Weymouth and Dorchester is to be closed for overnight roadworks.
The A354 Monkton Hill, near Dorchester, will be shut between 8pm and 6am from Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20.
Highways workers will carry out essential highway maintenance works to the route.
'Targeted and localised' repairs will be done to sections along 5.59km of the main road, Dorset Council says.
Motorists are advised to take a recommended diversion route of 18.72km via the A353, A352 and A35. National regulations state that traffic must be diverted onto roads with the same classification as the one that is closed.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
For more information on the works contact Dorset Highways on 01305 228100.
